The morning wind spreads it's fresh smell.
We must get up and take that in,
that wind that lets us live.
Breath before it's gone.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a subtle yet profound healing modality that focuses upon the health of the whole being. It works on physical, emotional and energetic levels to release disturbances and strengthen one's resilience and inner resourcesIt not only addresses the craniosacral system (the brain, the spinal cord, brain, the spinal cord, 22 cranial bones, the central nervous system and the cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects these structures and processes) but also any other part of the body needing support or attention. It is effective at treating a wide variety of suffering; stress, pain, injuries and disorders. Performed on a massage table, the client is fully clothed, and the touch is generally light and still.

CST was borne out of Osteopathy, the ancient art of bone setting. William Garner Sutherland, the grandfather of cranial therapies, discovered a primary respiration or 'Breath of Life' moving rhythmically through the body and generating intelligent forces or potency. This 'potency' (also referred to as 'the health' or as 'qi' in chinese medical theory) has its own innate intelligence which makes healing decisions or an 'inherent treatment plan' for the body. A biodynamic craniosacral practitioner thus orients to the breath of life, health, or potency, rather than the disturbance or defended structures in the body. They emphasize states of stillness, silence, and a negotiation of safe and loving space. These cultivated, yet inherent qualities, allow for tension patterns that are held within the body ( bones, tissues, fluid system, nervous system and energetic field) to be met and release in a regulated, slow, and spacious way. Following a session clients often report that they feel deeply relaxed, rejuvenated, clear and at ease.
